Not strictly Wii news, but publishers Capcom have released several new screenshots from Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, a title which will be hitting Nintendo's new 3DS handheld.

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

I'm still confused about how the 3DS makes 3D images without glasses. Anyone have an explanation? And if Nintendo can do it, then why are people paying $150/per set of 3D glasses for their HDTVs? Is Nintendo ahead of the times with the 3DS, or is the technology too sub-par compared to how 3D TV works?

Dave: It's quite obvious that this was probably possible for a long time but apparently anything in 3D (be it movie or video game) is very expensive, seeing how 3D glasses cost $150. Nintendo most certainly had both the guts and the money to make the 3DS possible and if it's successful, you'll see other companies following Nintendo's footsteps.

I see 3D cameras and cell phones being the wave of the future after the 3DS amazes all.
