Njoy has brought out the first 3rd party Wii Balance Board. Pictured below, it's also a weighing scales - having an LCD display and a speaker for telling your weight.
Currently listed on Amazon UK, it's retailing for slightly cheaper than the official version by Nintendo. It uses the same kind of Bluetooth connection and will be compatible with all Wii Balance Board games, such as:
What do you make of it? Considering the prices are similar, I'd probably go with Nintendo's board.

Why can't they make a 3rd party guitar controller compatible with rockband? I hate the fender.

Meh, I just got this game so my board is good still. I don't need another one.

At this point in time a 3rd party balance board is useless because WiiFit is the only game that uses it. It would also be useful if Nintendo put simultaneous multiplayer in WiiFit so cheaper boards can be an option. Since one WiiFit board can support about 300lbs, then you can put two together and support 600lbs! Problem solved.

There are some 3rd party accessories that are worth having (Nyko's Wiimote charger should be standard issue as far as I'm concerned), but only if they haven't already been made by the mothership. I guess if someone wants the board without the fitness, this is a solution until Nintendo starts selling the board separately. But you can't beat first-party. That's why it's 1st.

Can you buy WiiFit without the board?

The Nyko charger can have problems charging after about a year.
